Roots of Chicago
This piece feels really personal to me. It’s about what lies beneath—the unseen layers, the history, the resilience that holds everything up even when we don’t notice it. When I was creating Roots of Chicago, I kept thinking about growth… how everything new is built on something deeper, something older.
The flowing lines and earthy tones reflect that constant movement—like the city is still growing, still becoming. To me, this painting represents the beginning of a new era. One that’s grounded, but not stuck. Evolving, but still connected to its roots.
